What is an RF Remote Control Extender? Infrared remotes are generally limited to line-of-sight operation and shorter ranges. This device will turn your direct line of site IR remote into an RF remote, giving it a range of up to 100 feet, room-to-room control, and the other bonuses of having an RF remote. How It Works

The RF remote control extender kit includes two rechargeable 2/3-AAA batteries, which slide into their RF transmitter to fit the standard AAA battery compartment on your existing remote. An adapter is also included for AA compartments.

Replace one of your remote’s batteries with this device, and it picks up the signal of radio-frequency signals emitted by your direct line of site remotes, wirelessly radio transmits it to the base station. The base station then emits the IR signal, effectively turning your IR remote into a cost effective RF remote.

The base station comes with a charger for powering up the custom batteries.
