If your soundbar eARC connection is not working, do not replace anything yet. Most failures come from the wrong HDMI port, an eARC setting that is off, an incompatible audio format, or HDMI-CEC communication that needs a reset.
Look for an HDMI port labeled eARC or ARC on the TV and soundbar. An eARC TV can usually work with an ARC-only soundbar, but the connection operates at ARC capability. Use the labeled HDMI ports, not a regular HDMI input.
Disconnect and firmly reconnect the cable at both ends. For ARC, a certified High Speed HDMI cable is normally sufficient. For eARC and higher-bandwidth audio, use a certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable when possible. Do not route the cable through a splitter or switch while testing.
In the TV menu, find Sound, Audio Output, External Speakers, HDMI Control, CEC, Anynet+, Simplink, Bravia Sync, or a similar label. Set audio output to the HDMI receiver or soundbar. Turn eARC to Auto or On if that choice appears, and enable HDMI-CEC so the TV and soundbar can negotiate audio.
Start with Auto or Pass Through. If you get silence, try PCM to confirm the link works, then test Dolby Digital. eARC can carry higher-bandwidth formats when both the source, TV, cable, and soundbar support them.
Turn off the TV and soundbar, unplug both for 60 seconds, reconnect the HDMI cable, then power on the TV first and the soundbar second. This forces a new HDMI handshake.

Yes. Connect the ARC/eARC ports and set the TV to external HDMI audio. The link will use ARC-level features.
Check the TV audio-output setting and test PCM. If PCM works, the issue is usually a format or device-compatibility setting.
