If you own multiple video game consoles, then you surely know just how quickly your entertainment center can become a cluttered mess. Add to the consoles all of your games, controllers, and peripherals and you won’t just have a cluttered home entertainment center, but your surrounding shelves and floor will become a tangled web of cords and clutter.

If this sounds all too familiar to you, then the Atlantic Game Central M Rack could possibly be the solution you are looking for. At just under two feet wide, this unit doesn’t take up an awful lot of floor space. By placing your consoles horizontally, you can easily fit an Xbox 360, a Playstation 3, and a Nintendo Wii all on the bottom shelf, even if you don’t have the slim models of the consoles. It also has three additional shelves that can hold up to 60 Xbox 360 or Wii games, or DVDs; or it can hold up to 96 Playstation 3 games or Bluray discs.

Additionally, the Atlantic Game Central M Rack has hooks on either side, four controller hooks on one side and two hooks on the other side for guitar controllers for those of you who enjoy rhythm games.

The Downside

All of that sounds great, and it is in fact hand for organization. However, there are a few MAJOR negatives that need to be discussed here. First of all, there is the delivery aspect. We have seen repeated complaints from people ordering this product from various vendors, several being reputable vendors who known for proper handling, that have said that their M rack has arrived scratched and/or with missing hardware that is vital to assembly.

Furthermore, even if you are lucky enough to get all of the hardware for assembly, once assembled the Atlantic Game Central M Rack is far from what one would call a quality product. Fully assembled, the best word to describe the M Rack would be “flimsy.” If one were to not be very careful, the particle-board the shelves were made from would split while driving the screws in to hold it together.

The slightest movement nearby seems to send the rack swaying. We were in constant fear that it was going to fall over at any moment, though to be honest, it never did. Still, it was a very nervous experience. The entire thing just feels cheaply made, for lack of a better description. Our opinion, the materials were definitely of the lowest possible quality.

The Bottom Line

The Atlantic Game Central M Rack is a great idea, in theory. Plenty of storage to keep all of your consoles, games, and accessories neatly organized in one place. However, the quality of the materials used to make it are not high quality, the structure isn’t even remotely sturdy, and we couldn’t imagine that it would hold together for any extended length of time. Someone with the most basic of carpentry skills could construct a better solution than this themselves, and for less money. Bottom line, don’t waste your money on this, it is a poor investment.
