For Better Battery Life and Performance

Having an iPhone or an iPad is a lot of fun because you can spend hours using the apps, getting entertained and playing some of the amazing games around. In fact, one of the primary reasons for the popularity of the iPhone and the iPad are their awesome and high-tech applications because without the applications, the devices are not as appealing. With the applications, the iPhone is a lot more than a phone; it is a gaming device, a camera, GPS, weather forecaster, radio station and a much more.

With people to get a hang of using the applications and using most of them simultaneously, they most often forget the number of applications that they are running. This is because unlike a computer where all the applications running are right there on your home screen, on the iPhone, the applications do not appear when you go to the home screen. You may not even know the apps are running until later but this is inefficient for the running of the iPhone because open and idle applications take up extra battery life. This is why knowing how to close apps on iPhone is very important and the good thing is that you don’t need to close everything you open but making it a point to do so at least once or twice a day can make the battery life run longer.

Finding out which apps are running and how to close apps on iPhone is very easy; all you have to do is go to the home screen and double tap. On the bottom, you will see a Task bar with some of the icons of the apps you have been using, swipe to the left to see the rest of the open apps. To close any one of the apps or all of them, click on the icon of the app until it wiggles and a red hyphen appears to the top of it. If you do the same for the icons on the home screen, you will actually be deleting the applications themselves from your phone.

While many application developers believe that running applications do not really take up that much space and the Task Bar only reveals the number of running applications, some other iPhone users tend to disagree. You can also see the evidence for yourself by first finding out how to close apps on iPhone and then downloading the Memory app from the iTunes App store.  This application tells you the free memory that is the memory your iPhone is not using at all. Clearly, the more free memory your phone has, the more efficiently and fast it will work because the battery will have to provide less energy. You can even do your own research on the topic if you are not convinced; leave your fully charged iPhone overnight with applications running and see how much battery is left. Then leave your fully charged iPhone overnight with no applications running and then see how much battery is left.
